As a lady and more, as a freelance model I am really into flawless look during my pictorials.  It would be good to find a makeup artist that will not just conceal and contour your face then put colors on it like a canvas painting, but someone who’s committed to enhance your natural beauty without making you look like a zombie. Just 2 years ago, I discovered a makeup artist that does a certain kind of “magic” to her every client.  I am completely amazed on how she creates stunning looks with subtle hue of makeups suited in every occasion.

As a model, looking flawless on photos is a must, but sometimes our skin is not perfect, that's why one great touch from a makeup artist is needed to create what is lacking.

“I love natural beauty, and I think it’s your best look, but I think makeup as an artist is so transformative.” -Marina and the Diamonds

By the professional service name “MAJICA- Makeover by Jackie in Creative Application” (‘ma-hi-ka’ which literally means ‘magic’ in Filipino), Jackie can give magical makeovers from everyday look to high fashion, to avante garde, and of course, to her specialty, bridal makeovers!!! Whenever I see her Facebook posts about the brides she were able to take care during their special day, I can’t help but to imagine my own wedding, with her as my makeup artist.

One of my favorite before and after photo from her creations. The bride’s eye are in its perfection!

I really love the natural looking makeup she always give to her clients. The look that is very radiant and mesmerizing. The before and after photos of her clients makes me feel astonished on how she were able to bring out the best in everyone of them.  Also, she has her own way on how to conceal those “insecurities” ladies might have. Pimples, dark spots, freckles, scars… name it! She has a solution to it.

The dewy look of some of her bride on their wedding day.

perfect hairstyles made by MAJICA…

Her “recipe” on how to create that dazzling look on her every client might be explained by the trick she posted on her page:  “Ask how she wants to look like on her wedding day and let your future bride speak her mind. That way, not only that you know what you will do but you and your bride will meet half way as you both agree upon each other’s thought. It will definitely give an amazing result!”

I must say that listening to the clients’ wants is her key in creating satisfying results from the makeovers she did for them. Being treated as a queen is what every lady wants on her wedding day and that what her magical touch gives them.

Apart from all the affirmative opinions on her creations, she also has some achievements that will assure you on the quality of service that she can provide. Just this year she was able to made it to the Mary Kay Top 10 Makeup Artist for Dream Beautiful Contest. Also, recently, she and her team was awarded by being the Top Booker on Wedding Congress Philippines in Over-all and Make up Category, that happened last Nov 8-9, 2014 at PICC Forum Tent. I must say that they will not give and trust her with those titles for nothing, right?

Aside from the fact that Jackie is a great makeup artist which the photos and her credentials can readily testify, I myself can say that she is also a good person. I was able to meet her years ago when I won in one of the online contests she hosted. (You can read my post about that here: MAC Pink Nouveau Satin) While giving me a makeover, she made me feel comfortable by telling stories, asking my opinions, and treating me as someone that seems to be not so new to her. I really appreciate that. I think her charm is one of her assets to easily set rapport to her clients that will eventually create a good team up for a special event- where everyone can freely express their ideas and opinions to achieve the optimum quality of the craft.

The dedication she has in every craft she makes is something that no amount of money can buy. Definitely, she just not give magnificent makeovers during those wedding events but service at its finest to every bride that actually deserves it!

Our Magnum Store Experience + Side (Food) Trips at SM Aura

Standard

It is great to be with your friends. Much, it is better to be with them in exploring something new. Last week I am so happy to be reunited with my college friends. This is not the first time I made a post about them. We actually have that annual simple get together to catch up with each other during summer. And this time we headed to something new in the country, the Magnum Store at SM Aura. I read a lot of blog posts about it since it opened last April 8. And I am more than excited to try it out so I suggested the place to my beloved friends and luckily, they agreed! That’s why last April 25, we finally visit the place plus had our tour at SM Aura. We are four who went to SM Aura. Remember April (my friend)? The one who get married last December (I made a blog post for her wedding here)… Unexpectedly, she’s expecting already and she still went with us all the way from Bulacan (talking about how dedicated she is to our friendship). She actually said that she needs to ease boredom from staying at home during our longest vacation in our profession- SUMMER! And I also think she needs her walking exercise, so instead of taking a cab, we agreed to take train from the nearest MRT station at our meeting place and that’s EDSA Taft Avenue. We went to Ayala then got into a jeepney going to SM Aura. I am more than glad to see her so ‘game’ as before even if she is now bearing a child. She never complained throughout our trip despite of the heat. Oh well, I must say, I’m just so proud of her! Yay! Anyways, we met our friends at SM Aura. Henry and Maricar were there already waiting for us. After taking some snacks, we proceed to our agenda- the ultimate dessert in town- MAGNUM!

The very first thing that captured my attention at Magnum Store. This is made of popsicles sticks!

Let’s see the interior of the store…

I am actually surprised with the long line. I never thought for a while that eating an ice cream will set a trend, then I remember that this is not just an ordinary ice cream. This is something you can create as you please, something personalized, something that will hit the ‘soft spot’ in your taste buds.

Because of the long line, we opted to take a seat first

Since the Magnum Store was so full and we are practically in a budget, we didn’t get the ones that take as a ‘course dessert’. I also think those are quite overrated with the 10% service fee/tax (or whatever that percentage is for)- just a comment from someone who is not a sweet tooth.  Due to that financial reasons (lol!) we try to spend less and just take the thrill of customizing our own Magnum which only costs us 100php! Wherein, you can choose three toppings to put in your own choice of vanilla or chocolate bars coated with gold, dark chocolate or milk chocolate by your own choice as well!

Then they will on your Magnum.

Then they will top it on your Magnum and you are about to enjoy the Magnum made just for you!

Just a closer look... Just be reminded that this 100php worth of Magnum is just available for take-out so you should take your master piece as you stroll at the mall. Don’t worry with the drippings of your melted sweet treats as they will provide you with a decent carton plate to ensure that you can finish it as tidy as possible. Yey! Here are our master pieces! Oh! just a reminder! If you’re not a sweet tooth like me, I personally advised variations of the taste range of the toppings- subtle sweet, salty, sour… or anything you wish than combining all sweet products so that you can enjoy it more. As with me and my friends we head on to Starbucks to finish our customized Magnums and have our chit chats while taking some drinks that will at least minimize that ‘rock on’ sweetness we got from our magnificent dessert.

Since, some of us still can’t get enough of that sweet sensation, and Henry just celebrated his birthday, we took the opportunity to have a ‘celebration’ with him (as we usually do during our college days). We are more than pleased to be treated to a lavish Chinese cuisine from Four Seasons food chain that can be found along the food court of SM Aura that they call Food on Four. The prices were really affordable! Moreover, the taste of the foods were awesome! The soup was amazing since the veggies are not overcooked and the side dishes or ‘short orders’ like dimsums and chicken feet were all tasty!

more than happy!

more than happy!

Burp! I was so full after that and I believe my friends as well. I am more than happy having them once in a while- four of us- me, April, Maricar and Henry… but of course it would be better to be with more classmates/friends from college in every gathering like this one. Sadly, some of them are always busy with their careers or just can’t be there due to their personal reasons that we cannot interfere in any way.  But they are still welcome and loved (quite sentimental here! ) As with us four, as much as possible, when the time permits we try to see each other and catch up with one another. It was good to see each of us grow from time to time, me with my career, April with her family life, Maricar with her career shift and Henry with his studies. Every time, we have new stories to tell, maybe sweet, sour, salty, spicy or sometimes bitter, just like the sumptuous food we took that day. But at the end of each gathering we had, for me, what really matters is not what particular food we ate that day but the company, the warmth and the friendship that will never be as sweet as any dessert in town nor as tasty as any Chinese food available because the relationship we have was slowly cooked by time well spent knowing and meeting at the middle of our differences, seasoned by right amount of love, passion and respect ,and finally,  preserved by trust that nothing can take away  the memories we build during our college years and until (hopefully) our last breath. So that’s it! Hope you enjoy my long post this time. How about you sweeties, how do you spend quality time with your friends? Let me know as you comment below.

*Credits to my lovable friends for the photos in this post- Henry, Maricar and April I grabbed those from their Facebook accounts lol!

Review: Nivea Body Cream Extra Whitening Cell Repair and Protect

Standard

Loving my skin is my ultimate goal this year. It includes taking care of my skin inside and out. I engage myself into eating the right kind of food, drinking water and having proper amount of sleep.  I also continue moisturizing my skin with lotions or body creams.

10262015_865566143457287_6991798346223587236_n

The last tub I actually emptied was Nivea Body Cream Extra Whitening Cell Reapair and Protect which I actually got from Sample Room. I am more familiar of Nivea’s moisturizing cream that is in a blue metal flat tub that my older sister uses. And having a different kind of it actually excites me.

Its label says that it has a fast absorbing formula with Camu Camu and Acerola Cherry which offers 50x higher Vitamin C (compared to lemon extract) that helps repair accumulated dull and sun-damaged skin. It also has UVA/ UVB which filters protect your skin from harmful UV rays which induce pigmentation and cause dark, uneven skin.

As per my experience with the product here’s my take:

10295717_865566163457285_6892686720497289618_n

Absorption:  It easily absorb skin and it is non greasy. After a minute or to the body cream is spread and absorbed already by the skin.

10313040_865566193457282_1188373616007701772_n

Moisturizing:  Its effect is pretty amazing! A pea size of it can go a long way. My skin is highly moisturized when I am using it.

1902957_865566210123947_4542110668069620345_n

Whitening: No noticeable effect in this aspect.

Smell: It has a terrifying elegant smell that last long. I just love it!

10271468_865566226790612_4757570949313460086_n

Will I buy it? Maybe not. Since I am after the whitening properties of the lotion or body cream that I use I would prefer getting another product that will give me a maximum effect. The product made the skin really moisturized yet it did not whiten my skin even if I finished a tub of it.

I would highly recommend this for the ones who really want a moisturized and elegant smelling skin this summer.

How about you sweeties? What’s your favourite lotion or body cream this summer?

Jojoba’s Freshness: The Cream Factory’s Scrub-in-a-Tub Review

Standard

It’s good to be back! Summer vacation is finally making its way back to me. Lol! I’m super excited to finally relax after a long school year.  I just hope that you will not get me wrong, I love school and I love teaching but there are “peak seasons” at work that made my entire life revolve on papers and pens. And so now, as I’m heading with my much awaited season- summer, I want to cherish each day. I just have a month break this time so why not rock it on?

Anyway, because of that “peak season” at work, I have a lot of pending posts for you. One of which is this review for The Cream Factory’s Scrub-in-a-Tub. Last January they posted on their page that they are looking for bloggers to review their product and luckily I was picked as one of them. For those who don’t know it yet, I am a sucker of body scrubs which is I think, an advantage to do this review.

tadddah!

tadddah!

Super creative description for a much awaited scrub. yiiieeehhh! I want to try it up really soon.

Super creative description for a much awaited scrub. yiiieeehhh! I want to try it up really soon.

I claimed the item in Because, Inc. office at Ortigas which is actually few walks away from the school where I am teaching. I am so excited to try their scrub yet I still have some from the recent brand that I’m using so after two weeks, that’s the only time when I started using the Creamy Scrub in Goat Milk and Jojoba with walnut sprinkles which I personally choose from their 12 variants.

hmmm... it was really hard to choose among 9 variants available.

Work smooth on the skin, easy to spread just like a lotion. :)

Work smooth on the skin, easy to spread just like a lotion. 🙂

I choose Jojoba instantly because I instantly fell inlove in its fresh smell. A therapeutic type as I call it. No more so much story telling but here’s my take on The Cream Factory’s Scrub-in-a-Tub Creamy Jojoba variant

There is much more than that packaging. It is good to know that this product is made from natural ingredients which makes it a plus factor for them to try it really soon!

🙂 SMILEY 🙂

🙂  Its fresh smell is an A+ for me. It is not too strong and has a very calming fragrance.

You will know right after you open the lid.

You will know right after you open the lid.

🙂 The texture is not rough and readily smoothens the skin after wash.

Feels like lotion :)

🙂 The wall nut sprinkles are awesome; the tiny bits making me feel more cleansed and clarified.

SAM_3468

🙂 The packaging is also easy to open and easily secure the precious scrub inside.

😦 SAD FACE 😦

Quite pricey. When you buy a tub of 255g/ 9oz, it will costs you 599php.

"Go ahead, Give in."

“Go ahead, Give in.” I just love the walnut sprinkles inside ❤ Yay!

The product is close to perfect aside from the fact that it’s quite pricey compared to other scrubs. But actually it pays off specially if you were able to find the scrub type and variant which is right for your wants and needs.

In my personal account Jojoba Creamy Scrub is something I always look forward to in my daily bath sessions. I actually finished the entire tub all by myself in just 2 weeks. Just a confession, I used it every day and I can’t help it! The smell was really soothing that I don’t want to start my day without it.

But I also think that the company should produce a smaller packaging for all the variants they have to let the consumers experience all and pick the best for them. Aside from that, the scrub is perfect already.

I will be surely using another tub of this soon. I will be experimenting on a new type and variant as well. We will see by then.

How about you sweeties? Have you try The Cream Factory’s Scrub-in-a-Tub? Surely, you will rave about it  as others do. 🙂

August 2013 SaladBox: Focused

Standard

Hey yo!  This post is almost 3 months delayed already. But still, I just want to show you what’s inside my August SaladBox.

As I been telling you in my previous reviews of my beauty boxes. I will try to cover all the beauty boxes I had last August (It was actually quite a lot that I didn’t subscribe anymore in any beauty box for the next months after August except when GlamourBox is open for subscription for their special boxes). Anyway, I received this August box from SaladBox sometime in September already. It was so late  that I actually missed the thought of it being an August Box, all the time, it was a September Box to me until I rechecked the guide card enclosed in the box.

With that, I remember that it is November already and I haven’t received yet my September box. That is what something I hate about this particular beauty box subscription. There are always delays with the delivery of their boxes and constant follow ups and adjustments are needed for you to receive your box.

I remember my first box from them is something disastrous. I don’t want to lament all over again about is, so I guess you can just read it on here: https://rosalietangonan.wordpress.com/?s=SaladBox

What’s inside the box?

IMG_5796

Anyway, August 2013 SaladBox is all about beauty tools. It is composed of 5 items with one treat. I like the idea of having beauty tools in a box but since I waited so much for it, I guess the essence was forfeited and I am more of irritated about the transaction I had with them.

I will just enumerate the things inside their August 2013 box, describing each as written at the guide card provided inside the box or as per how I perceive it to be. The 5 beauty tools they got are the following:

Photo grabbed from SaladBox's website.

·         Duchness Makeup Tools Royal Blender Sponge: designed non-disposable sponge to apply your base foundation or BB (or CC) cream evenly and effortlessly. 1 sponge/ 390php

IMG_5797

·         Duchness Makeup Tools Artemis Blending Brush: ergonomic brush to blend on your eye shadows. (This is my own description) 1 brush/ 210php

Photo grabbed from SaladBox's website.

·         Go Fickle Hair Bun-maker: a bun maker that’s very effortless to use. It is designed with a material capable of being twisted  making it more of elastic with a great grip and shape. (This is my own description) 1 pc/ 120php

IMG_5799

·         Clou Pearls: The most popular nail innovation to date, these cute beads are the perfect tool to achieve that Pearl Manicure look! 10g/350php

·         Clou Sparkle Sand: Add some sparkle and texture to your nails with the newest nail trend. 10g/350php

My Thoughts

IMG_5798

They also got a treat in the August Box which is a 1,000php OFF on the October 19th Advanced Make up Sparty. It is an exclusive subscriber treat where they are slashing off 1K from the Advanced Sparty Ticket. It is actually a very nice treat, but since I got the box super late, giving it away will not make it to its due date dated September 20. (I think I got the box September 19) It made me sad that it went to nothing. It feels like a TRICK and not a treat on my part.

To this date, I was able to use only 2 of the items they got from the box. I love the Royal Sponge Blender Sponge from Duchness Makeup Tools which I found very useful for putting on my make up base. Atleast now, I will not be using my hands top blend on my liquid foundation. I also find their Hair Bun-maker from Go Fickle very awesome. It is a convenient way to make a perfect bun in seconds.

Will I subscribe again?

I actually have a 3 month subscription with SaladBox.  It started from August to October. But due to some not so good circumstances all the boxes I am subscribed at were delayed and worse I haven’t received my September and October boxes yet. With that I guess, this one will be my last subscription with SaladBox. I am dismay about their service though I must say that they reply instantly to my queries and follow ups. I think a good service doesn’t need follow ups from their customers regarding their transactions . For me, to always check the status of my beauty box and adjust to their service is something way too tasky.

Lately, when I asked about my September and October Beauty box, they suggested to move it and let me have the November and December box instead. That is actually way too incompetent, since as far I am able to recollect I am originally subscribed to July-September boxes only. But since there were problems regarding their delivery services, I granted their request for me to have the August-October boxes instead.

Based from my transactions with them, they said that they finally change their courier but still I think they have to be more focus now on tracking down the subscription of their customers so that they are not missing any. I have been reading wrath opinions from my fellow bloggers about their SaladBox subscription. Some even just give it away because of their dismayed to the company’s service.

As for now, I should let myself rest from following up my beauty boxes from them. I just grew tired I guess. Though they got nice promos, if it will eventually give me a headache, I think it would be better for me to save up for other boxes that will at least make me feel the essence of the monthly subscription and treats that they are giving.

This is just an honest opinion in my part and it is not influenced by anything aside from my observation and experience from them. I will be having my next SaladBox Subscription maybe after they already fix their service and prove their worth to the consumers. I just hope that it would be soon.

Have you tried to subscribe with SaladBox? How was your experience? I would love to hear from you sweeties. Just leave your comments below. ‘Til then.

Foot Appeal: For A Sexier Toes

Standard

I am into making my toes look better. I sometimes get modelling projects for my hands and most of the times; they even want my toes to be part of it. I am not that confident with my toes because I think, it looks dark and big.  Also, it has rough edges that make me feel more insecure.

IMG_2448

That’s why when July 2013 BDJ Box included in their items Foot Appeal, a foot skin peeling socks, I immediately try it out.

First Impression

It was my first time to try out something for my toes. More than scared, I am excited for the result that it will give. I’ve tried peeling oils before using this product. I used those on my elbows and knees that’s why I somehow got an idea on how the peeling goes and how intense it might be.

The back label.

Detailed directions of using the product, what to expect during the process and some precautions were indicated at the back label of the product made me feel secure as well.

The solution from the Foot Appeal Socks actually damaged my nail polish. But it is completely okay with me.

During the Process

I just followed the directions at its back label and documented how it works for 7 days.

Day 1

Day 1

Day 1: No noticeable change happened that can be seen by the naked eye yet the texture of the skin became drier especially along the edges.

Day 2

Day 2

Day 2: There was an itchy feeling especially on the surface of the foot. Slight peeling on the surface showed where a very thin layer of skin was scraping gently. Redness and dryness became more obvious.

Day 3

Day 3

Day 3: More peeling on the surface showed. Some areas are still itchy. Redness and dryness became more evident especially at the bottom of the toes.

Day 4

Day 4

Day 4: Itchiness was still there yet tolerable. Huge peeling along the surface occurred. The same happens in-between each toe fingers. Slight redness can be seen. Dryness was obvious on the whole feet.

Day 5

Day 5

Day 5: Peeling can be seen all over the toes, including the areas near the toe nails. No itchy or stinky feeling felt.

Day 6

Day 6

Day 6: Peeling became more evident compared to the previous days. Still, no itchy or stinky feeling felt.

Day 7

Day 7

Day 7: Peeling became extensive. The peeling occurred all over the toes. Dangling dry skin can be seen even along the edge of every nail. Gentle scratch can make flakes of dry skin fall.

Flakes of dry skin

Flakes of dry skin

After the 7th day, peeling is still continuous so I decided to document it until the peeling subsides.

Day 8 and 9

Day 8 and 9

Day 8 and 9: After the dry skin peeled naturally, minimal yet continuous peeling still occurred.

Day 10

Day 10

Day 10: Some tiny regions of the feet were still peeling. Drastic improvement can be seen on the toes. It became pinkish and softer to touch.

🙂 SMILEY 🙂

🙂 The product is easy to use because of the detailed instructions provided.

🙂 Foot appeal was true to its promise of real results-pinkish and softer foot.

😦 SAD FACE 😦

🙂 The effect did not last that long. After several weeks the feet became dry again and hard skin along the edges of the feet starts to build up once more.

🙂 Peeling is too much that you should prepare to wear socks and shoes to cover up. It is a sad face for me because I don’t wear close shoes because my toe nails breaks easily.

Recommendations:

  • Do not forcefully peel-off the dead skin because it will damage the new skin.
  • Use hydrocortisone cream to relieve the itchiness. Do not scratch your peeling feet.
  • If possible, use the product during a long vacation so that it won’t be hassle to go out. (If you are like me who’s very OC with my feet.)
  • To maintain the effect of foot appeal, regular foot spa or scrub should be done. Maintenance is important.

Will I buy it again?

Yes, I will. My purpose was mentioned already why I tried the product. It satisfies its purpose that’s why there’s no way for me not to use it again. I like to see the result that it will give with the regular use that might be more amazing than just what I had in my first.

Thoughts

The peeling skin looks really scary especially on the 7th day. It feels like it is unending. But nevertheless, everything is worth it!

Have you tried it out sweeties? How do you maintain your toes smooth and pinkish?

NOTD: Stress Free Me

Standard

The previous week was so stressful for me. Beating deadlines seems to be an unending journey. But yes! I made it! Everything was submitted on time, which calls for a good treat for myself.

Last Friday, I made it to the point to go out of work at exactly 4:30, our official time out. I cancelled every little tasks I have after 4:30 to give myself a time to breathe and pamper a little. Then, I decided to have myself a good pedicure and nail art since my nails are growing already and I am not into cutting them yet.

I head on to Pink2Pink Body at Face Skin Care and Aesthetics Center to get my nails done. (Yes! They do have nail art services. LOL!) The center was recommended to me by my sister. I was immediately convinced to take their service since it is really at a reasonable price.

Here are the photos of the service I got and the step by step procedure they did to me.

They use actual photos as swatches. It was hard for me to choose since everything looks really adorable!

One of the attendants started cleaning my feet. As what I usually do, I make it to the point to remind her to be extra careful with my toes because I don't want to end up bloody :) Lol!

I had my pedicure and nail art for only 200php. The service was good since the attendants are respectful and friendly. The ambiance of the center is really relaxing as well.

Moringa- O2 Malunggay Herbal Soap Review

Standard

Recently, I tried out and had a review of Moringa Soap from Nature’s Droplets and now, I just finished trying out another Moringa Soap but this time, from Moringa-O2 . I got this item from my 3rd SampleRoom haul.

SAM_1899

This review is actually quite late but as they say, better late than never. So now, let’s get it on…

First Impression

IMG_2100

The soap itself looks good. It is smooth and texture and has a very mild scent. The sample I got just fits on my palm and have a light green color. It also has olive oil and omega in its ingredients. It claims to be a herbal soap which is anti-aging, anti-bacterial, anti-acne, moisturizing and skin lightening. So much for a little soap right?

And the back label of it also states that it is:

SAM_2089

Dermatoligst tested safe and effective.

All the details about it based from the packaging seem to be very impressive. But how my peg about it? Here we go…

SAM_1900

🙂 SMILEY 🙂

🙂 Its scent is not too strong or perfumed. It seems to be very natural and relaxing

🙂 The color of the soap is also not too dark. It is even lighter than the natural leaves of malunggay. It doesn’t stain on textiles.

🙂 It actually relieves itch. I usually got some itchy red spots on my chest part after bathing, I don’t know where it comes from but when the time I used this malunggay soap, the itchy feeling and the red spots were gone.

IMG_2101

😦 SAD FACE 😦

😦  Not so easy to lather. I applied it 2-3 times to achieve the foamy lather I got from my regular bath soap. Maybe it is because of the oil ingredients in it. Personally, I prefer soaps with foamy lather because it acts as a gentle massager to my skin.

😦 I find it easy to melt compared to other soaps. The 60grms sample I got lasted just for roughly 2 weeks.

😦 I did not notice its moisturizing effect. I still use lotion after bathing with it since I can scratch lines on my skin.

😦 I did not use it on my face but just for my body. I actually did not find any drastic change on my skin while using the product in a span of more than a week. The lightening effect is also not evident.

SAM_1905

Recommendations:

Just try it first on your body before trying it out on your face if you are planning do so. It is to assess the immediate effect of it on your skin than taking the risk of putting it on to the most sensitive skin on your body which is found on the face.

Will I buy it again?

If my main purpose of using the soap is to relieve the frequent itchy feeling I got after bathing maybe yes, I will buy it but if my purpose is for a relaxed and leisure bathing time, I will settle on a body wash or other beauty soaps.

Soaps are essential to make you feel clean and refreshed. This soap from Moringa O2- Malunggay Herbal Soap can deal with that. My experience about it was just captured from more than a week of using it, and I don’t have any idea of what the results will be if I tried it more than that span of time.

Maybe you can check it out as well my sweeties and let me know your thoughts about it 🙂

Pastel on My Nails

Standard

I’m extremely into nail polish. I always want to try out different shades and explore different brands. But just this summer, I discovered Girl Stuff Nail Polish that actually stopped me from searching and experimenting with different brands.

If you read already my previous post, you know that my Girl Stuff Nail Polish madness went on to my eagerness to win at Eyahnism’s Blog Revamp Giveaway which has 5 bottles of nail polish from the mentioned brand at stake. Well, I just got my luck and was one of the winners. As promised, I will be posting a lot about it and here is the first installment.

Just a disclaimer, I don’t personally do my nails. I hire someone to do it for me, as I am kind of OC (Obsessive Compulsive) on everything about my nails. My OCness goes to having my hand nails and toe nails painted with different yet matching colors to cleaning it up as gentle as possible. I really don’t want to see blood on my nails or else I will terribly mourn about it. *lol*

I am scheduled to pamper my nails every 2 weeks. And, this week, I decided to have my nails painted with pastel colors.

I choose PINKY for my hand nails while, I got JADE for my toe nails. I got my Pinky nail polish as part of my prize in Eyah’s giveaway while Jade has been on my collection since last summer.

Nice combination right? So much of I want to try nail art but it is actually prohibited in my job that’s why I asked Ate Bel (the one who manages my nails) to go plain and simple.

The colors that I choose are not too strong nor too light. Pastels also made me feel like a fine lady. It can go to casual to formal events, which is actually one of the main reasons why I choose those.

The big X factor of the nail polishes that I use this week is that it is always safe and gentle not just to my nails but also to my entire body.

How about you sweeties? What’s your nail polish peg this week? C’mon and share it with me.

MAC Eye Kohl in Phone Number Review

Standard

MAC has been one of my favorite make up brands since I was able to try out their products on my make over session with Ms. Jackie Flores.

Ms. Jackie Flores is such a pro! Look! I look absolutely different because of her majica :)

Ms. Jackie Flores is such a pro! Look! I look absolutely different because of her majica 🙂

The single lipstick I got from Jackie Majica’s online contest is one of the lipsticks I really adore. And of course, I am planning to get myself more of it soon at their store at Mall of Asia (Good thing it is really near our house. lol!).

I am a frustrated model...

I am a frustrated model…

But just how I believe how lucky I am, I received another MAC make up product from an office mate! Yes! It is a gift! Monette, my generous office mate and a freelance make up artist know how much I am into make up products, that’s why she gave me one of her current stocks. She knows me so well that she gave me the make up product that I can’t live without, eyeliner!!! Yey!

It is actually my first time to try out a different brand of eyeliner than what I usually use way back in college. It is quite an exploration to me as I am not really into eyeliners that need to be sharpened. I am practically in favor of those which are retracted. But it is a gift, so I receive it with my arms wide open and no hesitations. After two months of using it as a substitute to my usual eyeliner brand, here I go with review.

How's the MAC Kohl in Phone Number?

How’s the MAC Eye Kohl in Phone Number?

It’s been quite sometime since I last use my 🙂 SMILEY 🙂 and 😦 SAD FACE 😦 kind of narration. Did you miss it? Oh well, I really do… So here we go!

🙂 SMILEY 🙂

🙂  The eyeliner coal or lead is soft and very easy to apply, just a glide of it on my upper lids and lower lids and it’s done.

🙂  Though the lead is soft, it doesn’t break easily compared to the coal of retracted eyeliner.

The coal of it lasts longer than the other brands.

The coal of it lasts longer than the other brands.

🙂 The color of the eyeliner is actually black, really black which blends well with the foundation I got that’s why it projects a bolder look compared to my usual brand.

One glide is enough, making it two will be too much.

One glide is enough, making it two will be too much.

🙂 It can undeniably, use for a long time. I use eyeliners almost everyday but this one, after two months had never gone into half of it. If this eyeliner is the retracted kind, I am sure that it is already consumed.

Is the brand enough?

Is the brand enough?

😦 SAD FACE 😦

It is good but...

It is good but…

😦  The lead of the eyeliner is quite big which sometimes creates a panda look that I can’t wear that good.

😦  Smudge. This is one of the things I don’t like with eyeliners. And sadly, this MAC eyeliner smudge so fast. I think it should not be used when going to humid places for it to be intact.

Recommendations:

*Keep it properly with the cap on or else, the outer cover of you make up products will have a black coal all around. I am saying this because it happened to me. I was so careless so I end up cleaning all the make up products I got inside my pouch.

*Keep a make up sharpener handy. You will not know when the coal will run out so it is best to have it at hand when using this. But remember to clean up the sharpener after use so that the black coal will not be with your lipliners when you will also need to sharpen them.

Will I buy it again?

Hmmm… I am a kind of person that goes on how practical I can use the product. With this, I think it is too tasky to use compared to the eyeliners I used before, not just the retracted ones but also the liquid and gel type eyeliners. I just can’t stand the routinely, sharpening the item and cleaning up the tools religiously after.  That’s why I personally think that it is better not to buy this kind next time. Instead, I will buy the retracted ones, though those really run out easily. Going back to what I am used at is not a sin anyway.

Those are just honest comments from me. I hope you find it okay. But I can still say that this eyeliner made me create looks that are equally astonishing as the others. And also, I must say that it is very safe to use with proper handling. I am just actually very precise with eyeliners because it is my main make up item and I want it to be close to perfect as possible.
