Top Supplier: Wedding Makeup Artist: Jackie Majica Flores

As a lady and more, as a freelance model I am really into flawless look during my pictorials.  It would be good to find a makeup artist that will not just conceal and contour your face then put colors on it like a canvas painting, but someone who’s committed to enhance your natural beauty without making you look like a zombie. Just 2 years ago, I discovered a makeup artist that does a certain kind of “magic” to her every client.  I am completely amazed on how she creates stunning looks with subtle hue of makeups suited in every occasion.

As a model, looking flawless on photos is a must, but sometimes our skin is not perfect, that's why one great touch from a makeup artist is needed to create what is lacking.

“I love natural beauty, and I think it’s your best look, but I think makeup as an artist is so transformative.” -Marina and the Diamonds

By the professional service name “MAJICA- Makeover by Jackie in Creative Application” (‘ma-hi-ka’ which literally means ‘magic’ in Filipino), Jackie can give magical makeovers from everyday look to high fashion, to avante garde, and of course, to her specialty, bridal makeovers!!! Whenever I see her Facebook posts about the brides she were able to take care during their special day, I can’t help but to imagine my own wedding, with her as my makeup artist.

One of my favorite before and after photo from her creations. The bride’s eye are in its perfection!

I really love the natural looking makeup she always give to her clients. The look that is very radiant and mesmerizing. The before and after photos of her clients makes me feel astonished on how she were able to bring out the best in everyone of them.  Also, she has her own way on how to conceal those “insecurities” ladies might have. Pimples, dark spots, freckles, scars… name it! She has a solution to it.

The dewy look of some of her bride on their wedding day.

perfect hairstyles made by MAJICA…

Her “recipe” on how to create that dazzling look on her every client might be explained by the trick she posted on her page:  “Ask how she wants to look like on her wedding day and let your future bride speak her mind. That way, not only that you know what you will do but you and your bride will meet half way as you both agree upon each other’s thought. It will definitely give an amazing result!”

I must say that listening to the clients’ wants is her key in creating satisfying results from the makeovers she did for them. Being treated as a queen is what every lady wants on her wedding day and that what her magical touch gives them.

Apart from all the affirmative opinions on her creations, she also has some achievements that will assure you on the quality of service that she can provide. Just this year she was able to made it to the Mary Kay Top 10 Makeup Artist for Dream Beautiful Contest. Also, recently, she and her team was awarded by being the Top Booker on Wedding Congress Philippines in Over-all and Make up Category, that happened last Nov 8-9, 2014 at PICC Forum Tent. I must say that they will not give and trust her with those titles for nothing, right?

Aside from the fact that Jackie is a great makeup artist which the photos and her credentials can readily testify, I myself can say that she is also a good person. I was able to meet her years ago when I won in one of the online contests she hosted. (You can read my post about that here: MAC Pink Nouveau Satin) While giving me a makeover, she made me feel comfortable by telling stories, asking my opinions, and treating me as someone that seems to be not so new to her. I really appreciate that. I think her charm is one of her assets to easily set rapport to her clients that will eventually create a good team up for a special event- where everyone can freely express their ideas and opinions to achieve the optimum quality of the craft.

The dedication she has in every craft she makes is something that no amount of money can buy. Definitely, she just not give magnificent makeovers during those wedding events but service at its finest to every bride that actually deserves it!

Photoshoot: Japanese Girl featuring Thumbmark Photography

I always dream of wearing a kimono. Kimono, as we all know is the national costume of Japan. I like how colourful it is and how it actually define the feminine figure through its obi.  But I never had a chance to wear it during my childhood days, that’s why when Thumbmark Photography had an open photoshoot with kimono as one of its costumes, I didn’t think twice of joining.

Nevertheless, I had my photoshoot with them.  Here are some of my sample edited photos from them:

The photoshoot went well. Despite the fact that, I feel a little awkward with the young models who participated in the photoshoot which actually make me feel older. LOL! I still manage to take pleasure in what I wear. I was not able to do some new poses in this photoshoot because I had a hard time thinking on how  to maximize my costume yet I am in high spirits that I was able to climb a large trunk of a dead tree at wildlife. Yey! (Talking about how I am trying to retrieve my childhood days here. LOL!)  All the same time, I enjoy the whole event with the friendly staffs of Thumbmark Photography.

What I like about ‘working’ with this particular company is the “friend-like atmosphere”. My first photoshoot with them was also my first time to meet the members of their team but I didn’t had a hard time adjusting and communicating with them. Thumbmark Photography has a personnel assigned in every component of the photoshoot from marketing, to HMUA and up to the photographer, they had designated the task quite well that’s why as a model I was able to have a hint of a good service.

The HMUA was Ms.Thammy Gel Peña Bernardo while my photographer was Mr. Mark Keyvette Bernardo.  So now, you might already have an idea why the company was named Thumbmark Photography. Anyway, these two are real life partners who are exploring their own hobbies and also trying to establish a company in which they can earn something from their craft. Pretty exciting right? While, I made my inquiries and transaction prior to the event with Ms. Hanna Agustin, their ever accommodating and respectful marketing personnel.

I also got my raw photos from them. I actually try to edit some of it using some Ipad applications. So here is what I’ve got.

I must also say that their dog, Ashley is an “X-factor”.  They have this dog at the venue of our photoshoot. She has that exquisite charm that makes me at ease while waiting for my turn during the pictorial. One random fact about me is that I am NOT fond of dogs, but this one captivated me and that is a big “WOW!” as my boyfriend said.

This is their shitzu dog, Ashley.

With this here’s another big check to my bucket list! Yey! And with their good service, I would love to have my “own-concept” photoshoot through them as well. For now, I am just thinking of the concept to try out soon. Any ideas my dear sweeties?

OOTD: Royal Plains and Florals + A Road Trip to Tagaytay

Hi sweeties! Happy Easter! How was your long weekend?  For Catholics like me, hope you were able to reflect on the passion of Christ with your family. For others, I hope you enjoy and were able to rest well.

With me, I was able to take that long vacation as an opportunity to enjoy with my family and also go to church to celebrate our faith. Part of this is our visit to some places in Tagaytay.

Anyway, in this post I will share to you my OOTD last Maundy Thursday as well as a mini travel post about our trip at the city of Retirement Haven, Tagaytay.

My mom’s cousins decided to have a simple get together during this year’s Holy week and we end up having a road trip along the South. With some kiddos, we visit places that they will surely enjoy.

The future generation :)

The future generation 🙂

Just to be comfortable in our whole day activity, I pick out an attire that will make me last through walking, and unpredictable temperature of the city. I brought with me a cardigan and a nice piece of shawl to accentuate my look and to be my company in the cold temperature we are actually expecting during the road trip.

Our first stop was Palace in the Sky. The breath-taking scenery on top of the big stones on the mountainous area which is overlooking the places nearby is awesome. We also climb up a tower where I was able to see a huge size statue of Jesus which I think was the best of the views I’ve seen at Tagaytay. Touching the statue was a unique experience. It seems to be moving because of the gentle breeze and cold air. As I look up into it, the blue sky made the view more solemn that will surely lead you to reflect and pray about that magnificent experience.

Next stop was Picnic Groove. I remember being in that place when I was in high school and having our field trip along the green grass with our lunch boxes. Lol! But the place seems to change and became commercialized. More activities are available to people to enjoy just like horseback riding, zip line, photo opts, foot spas and of course, picnic courses.

Our family, decided to have horseback riding and walking along the place. The kids enjoyed the horseback riding and the 350php fee for an hour was really used up to its last minute. Their eyes were sparkling after that experience. Some of them even try it out for three times which I think, an authentic proof that they really enjoy the activity.

Horseback riding with my youngest sister, Elisha.

Lastly, we went to Sky Ranch, a mini-amusement park at Tagaytay. The place was so nice and colorful! A perfect get-away for those who love carousels, ferris wheels, vikings and more amusement rides! Food concessionaires also offer reasonable prices at this place. That’s why, if you don’t really like to take the rides, you can just enjoy their sumptuous food with less guilt for your pockets.

The blue skies are magnificent! Isn't it? A great weather to enjoy the place!

But since this was our last stop, we seemed to be “low-bat” already and just decide to sit down at a side and watch the mascots at the place doing their dance moves. (Sorry, I don’t really know what to call them.) And we just end up there until it’s time to go.

We're just okay watching everyone shouting around. We're too tired of the long walks but we still manage to smile. It was a happy day!

Though the places are not as grant as its name suggested I feel happy to reach those. I just hope that the government will take the necessary actions that will lead to its restoration. Those tourist spots are nice to go to. If only the city government will be able to do something to improve those, I am sure that more tourists will come and see its goodness.

Should I say more?

Should I say more?

The activity we had with our family was amazing! We seldom gather for this kind of event. Seeing everyone smiling and having a good time despite of the raging heat of the sun and long walks was really rewarding. Truly, a bonding time is a must for a family. But of course, during this season, let us also remember the true essence of the long vacation; it is not just to have a bonding, trip or a party but to strengthen our faith to our savior, Jesus Crist.

How about you sweeties, how did you spend your Holy Week? Hope to read from you. You just have to hit the comment box below. Have a great week ahead!

OOTD: Strawberries and Black

I am known to be crazy about strawberries. I am mad about strawberries even it is in a form of food, flavor or just a design on anything.

what’s under my shoes? I don’t know…

I seldom see apparels with strawberry print which is not too girly or overly designed with pink (because I don’t really like pink that much). That’s why when I see this blouse from Rvamp ByNikkimanas, I didn’t think twice of getting it.

Just a happy child in me! :)

I wore these pieces in my hazy Sunday morning to celebrate mass with my mom and sibling. I kept it simple and not so colorful to match the weather. I also think that black and red already goes well and to add more colors into it will be too much already. Those are actually aside from the fact that we’re really leaving too early to be too accessorized or fully made up.

My little sister tried his best to capture some photos of me. She’s just 8 years old and I think she did pretty well in this one. She took the photos from our most wanted spot at home… THE RED GATE! lol!

How about you sweeties, what are your favorite prints?  C’mon, share it with me. Hope to read from you soon!

OOTD: The Wedding

December is always the wedding month here in the Philippines (maybe second to June or even first! Lol!) And one of the brides last December was my very own friend from college. I was so excited for her! Her groom was her boyfriend way back from high school (Talking about how long their relationship is… yay! It makes me feel giddy!)

That event actually made me the only single lady from my college group of friends which I don’t know if I should celebrate or mourn. But I am really happy that the event reunited our group and the photos will surely be a proof of that. The photos were taken by one of my good friend from college, Maricar.

I was overwhelmed to see another real love story unfold in front of me. Their relationship had its own doze of struggles but their love never let it fade even after several years.

For my OOTD part, I seldom have my photos taken and put it in a collage but this is the only picture that I can retrieve from the event that is suited for this purpose.

In this look:

Just to follow their wedding motif I wore brown and gold. I am not really fan of brown but since there is gold I know I was able to do a good mixing and matching of my wardrobe pieces.I had to add up some staple black pieces to make the look more elegant. And here was the output. I fully maximize my accessories in this peg since everything seems to be plain. So, what do you think about this look?

As April (my friend), took another journey in life, I hope she will find the happiness she deserves. And, I, the single lady, will continue my life with more happiness and dream for the same much awaited day with my prince charming.

How to find that one real love? Yay! A hopeless romantic here.

OOTD: The 70’s Fashionista

We all know that fashion is like a cycle. What’s “in” now will be suddenly be out of style and will just go back after some years or decades. Currently, the fashion trend goes like what our parents or grannies had during the ‘70’s. Baroque styles are everywhere whether it is in clothes or just a background of our desktops.

Last December, I attended a wedding of an officemate and I decided to go a little bit chic and formal that’s suited for the event. Nevertheless, I splurge into a little baroque dress with some floral pearl ensembles.

The red carpet compliments my over all look!

To go with the “fashionista” in me, I also decided to have a glamorous hair do with elegant hair pieces which really made me feel like a vintage queen during that day. My hair was braided by my mom’s friend and I just made it into a bun and accessorize it and viola! Truly, a master piece!

classic and elegant

And to a modern touch to the look, I use a pair of black sandals with gold studs.   Finally, for accessories, I use the ever- elegant pearls from Karutora for my earrings and my own line of gross grain bracelets.

I enjoyed the day!  Being in the crowd and bond with my friends and colleagues made the day really amazing. The blushing bride was so happy with our presence and I think that’s the best gift we can give to her more than the material ones.

You can never go wrong with the vintage styles in formal events. Just spice it up with your own statement and you’re good to go.

I personally love this look! How about you? What are your thoughts about it?

A Book Cover

Almost all of you know already that I am inlove with modelling. Last January, I am privileged to wear a designer’s gown for a photo shoot called “Fashion Couture”.

I love the effect of my extra long falsies here.

I love the effect of my extra long falsies here.

It is my first outdoor shoot and I am really excited about it. Also, in that photo shoot, there are two guest photographers aside from the one who organized the event which means that there could be variety of photos that will be taken.

The photo shoot was held at Ninoy Aquino Parks and Wildlife, Quezon City. The place was a well-maintained urban forest good for gatherings like picnics, nature tripping or just a peaceful and nature inclined photo shoot.

I love the gown by Mr. Adrian Rios. It is elegantly sexy yet still conservative. The black dress with floral details is outstanding in the green set up of wildlife. While the classic make up is done by Ms. Irish Clemente.

I also enjoy the challenging poses that the photographers asked me to do like lying on the soil, showering me with dry leaves, making me sit in a bark of tree and a lot more. I agreed to do everything for the sake of an artistic photograph. 🙂

OOTD: Golden Rule

When I was an undergraduate student, I am really strict with my schedule. I usually don’t go out unless I am done with all my assignments and requirements in school. Oh, well, yes! I was studious that time. But as the years pass by there are moments that I learn to loosin’ up a bit just for my social life’s sake.

Talking about how I want to be strict to myself, I also got schedules to follow and deadlines set. But lately, I’ve been failing to catch up with those for some reasons. My main concern from this point is to finish editing of the Chapter 2 of my thesis yet I am struggling between irresistible invites from modelling (which I love so much) to family events.

Even if sometimes, I don’t want to go, if someone close to my heart pleads, I can’t just say no. That what was exactly happened last Saturday, my sister invited me for a movie date yet my mind is into editing my paper. But since, she insisted (aside from the fact that she will pay for the tickets, lol!) I just said yes.

We went to Resort Wold Manila to watch the movie by her favorite local actress, Bea Alonzo entitled “She’s The One”. For the movie date, I just wore a simple casual attire because the place is a 15 minute walk away from our house and our agenda was only to watch a movie. Nothing more, nothing less.

Black origami shorts- Revamp by Nikkimanas

Black jelly sandals- Celline

Gold chain necklace with wing pendant- Forever 21

Gold Bangles– a gift from an officemate

My accessories are gold. That’s the elegant touch of my entire outfit. Nothing beats gold in upgrading your look to something smart.

Here are some more photos from Cinderella’s chariot at Resort’s World Manila. It is also gold and purple. Cute right?

My Golden Rule in Fashion? If there’s no dress code, wear something that makes you feel comfortable. Confidence will still be the best attire that you can have but never-ever forget to accessories.

A happy me :)

A happy me 🙂

‘Till then sweeties.

How Do Colors Define Beauty?

Experimenting is my game. Since I was little, I would look at the mirror creating different looks for myself. And since that, I grow up (not literally, lol!) doing and exploring things that I wouldn’t want to miss any opportunity to look different for better or sometimes, if unlucky, for worse.

Recently, I joined another open photo shoot by Mharia Photographia with the themeI Colours of Beauty III. I really love to join this shoot because I want to see myself look with playful colors.

Here were some of my selfies after the shoot. No more falsies and accessories but still with vibrant make up.

The wardrobe and make up I got are really astonishing.  It looks too much during the actual shoot but it looks really well in the photos. My make up and accessories are all provided by the studio. 🙂

Here are my edited photos:

OOTD: Refreshed

“I am blessed.” I always claim that. I am not just lucky. I have things that others would love to have. I am not rich but I am happy.

That’s why I make it to the point to reach out to everyone and share what I have. Also, I want to appreciate every blessing that comes along my way.

Last August, as all you know I was announced as the winner of July Giveaway sponsored by Tin-Tindahan and Style Profile Online (SPO). I really do cherish the prize I won from them.

As a prize, four apparels were sent to me plus some make up goodies. Now, I am very glad to show you how I fit in those fabulous and trendy clothes they gave me.

So here is one of those outfits I was able to figure out as I mix and match. This one looks really hip especially during hot-rainy-crazy weather.
