Hey yah! Summer is what I always waiting for after a whole tiring and fun school year. During summer break, just like now, I can chill at home, have my “me” time, wear what I want, go where I want without worrying about the things that I need to do when I get back and of course… mini reunion with good friends.
Yesterday was a tiring yet really fulfilled one for me and my college classmates. We are all teachers that’s why we expect that most of us are free at the moment. We tried to invite as any as we can. Unfortunately, it was just four of us made it. But it’s not about the number as they say, it is about what we did that made the time worthwhile.
I was the first one to be at Mall of Asia because it is near our house and before meeting them, I had to accompany my mom to the appliance center. After my lunch with mom, I told her about my mini bonding with my college friends and she allowed me to stay there with my heart warming and very first quarter pounder. 😉 (Yehey!)
I got a medium fries and soda with it. The quarter pounder was so beefy or meaty yet doesn’t have that much vegies. than what was on their menu. Well, anyway, because I skipped breakfast and it was lunch already, it appeals quite well to me.
I’m petite but I really have a big appetite but I was not able to finish that for lunch. I stroll around the mall while waiting for them because I still got more than an hour before meeting my college friends. I tried to freshen up and go inside some boutiques.
The first one to arrived was Maricar. We both know that the two others whom we are waiting will be a little bit late (as always… Hihihi…) so we go just chill at the kiosk of Krispy Kreme. I got a cookies and cream chillers and a truffle kreme which I will blog out soon. I also finally finish my quarter pounder there, a perfect match for that awesomely sweet chillers.
When we’re complete already (we’re 4), we went to the movie house and purchased 3D tickets for the movie Iron Man 3 (Yehey!) I am not fond of movies especially the fiction ones yet I can say that I really fell inlove with Tony Starks (I really wish to be his Pepper). Oh well, back to reality, what adds to my excitement is… it was my first time to watch a 3D movie (wahahhaha, yes! call me cheap now!)
About the movie, it was so thrilling as in… extremely breath taking. As for me, at first, I thought that I will not be able to relate with the movie because I did not watch the first 2, but surprisingly, I was able to fit in because of flash backs and little explanation from the characters. I just find the sagacious dialogues a little boring but yeah, it is part of the movie and later on those dialogues will explain what will be happening to the next scenes.
The spectacular skydiving acrobatics where Iron man needs to save a total of 14 men is awesome! It calls teamwork 🙂 Every time they are missing out one, I would like want to shout and cheer for them. What excites me more was the various Iron Man suits that came to the rescue during the climax. It was so amazing!
I was also caught at the part where Pepper fell at the burning materials down the building. I immediately forgot that she undergone the process of conversion (?) and can survive that heat. Oh well, my instinct was to feel for Tony that time. But I was so happy when I saw that she’s alive and I know that could bring the major twist in the movie.
I still hope that there will be more movies of Iron Man soon. I really love the character especially now that I found out that his first name is the same as my hubby’s.
The movie lasted for two hours or more. After that ,me and my friends decided to have dinner at a Chinese restaurant known as Super Bowl. I am extremely a fan of Chinese food so, that was an advantage for me. I choose our courses because they cannot decide upon it (I’m quite domineering, I know.) But just to have our dinner as soon as possible, I choose these courses: beef and wanton brisket noodle soup, yang chow rice, 2 BBQ platter (Chicken and pork), pork siomai and hakao. I actually encourage them to just take water for drinks because I’m into water therapy.
What I love about Chinese cuisines is that it always have a sauce or a dip with it. I love their chili sauce (I love spicy foods…) and soy sauce with a hint of citrus (kalamasi) I can survive in a Chinese restaurant just having a Yang Chow rice and a set of dimsum and everything will be fine… Plus, Chinese restaurants are known to serve food in large amount which makes it quite practical for group gatherings.
So we had our dinner, and I’m happy that they were satisfied about the meal. We did not even finish one set of siomai because we’re full already.
The service were good. They tried to attend to us as fast as they could. The place is comfortable but not that cold. But the total bill is quite pricey compared to other Chinese restaurants that I’ve been. Maybe because the service charge is inclusive already with the meal.
Over the meal we catch up about each other especially with our friend April, who is getting married this December. Hooray for her! I am always happy and threatened (yikes!) at the same time when my college friends are getting married. It feels like time has been passing by for all of us. But I hope to be at that same stage soon. 🙂 Who knows?
Our mini-reunion ended there. I was so tired because I stayed so long at the mall (from 10am-7pm) but those hours are really worthwhile especially when you spent it with the people who had been true to you ever since.
How’s your summer then? Hope you will share your own experience with me… Bye for now sweeties!
